Communities mainly depend on farming, livestock and local trade for their livelihoods. The locality includes Mershing town, Manawashi, and several rural villages and settlements. The locality has been affected by conflict, displacement and deterioration of basic services. Key humanitarian needs include food security and livelihoods, health and nutrition, WASH, education, protection and shelter. Some areas are also vulnerable to seasonal flooding.
