Al Radom – 21 June 2026 As part of its continuous monitoring of the deteriorating humanitarian situation caused by the ongoing conflict, the Al Radom Locality Emergency Room conducted a field assessment visit to Al Radom Refugee Camp to examine the scale of human suffering and assess the availability of essential services and humanitarian assistance provided to refugees in the camp. Severe Humanitarian Conditions The assessment revealed extremely difficult living conditions, with refugees facing a severe lack of basic necessities required for a dignified life. The absence of adequate humanitarian support raises concerns about an imminent health and humanitarian crisis, particularly with the approaching rainy season. Key Humanitarian Gaps and Urgent Needs 1. Shelter and Non-Food Items (NFIs) Most refugees are living in open areas or in fragile temporary shelters made from grass and worn-out fabrics that provide little protection against extreme weather conditions. There is a critical shortage of tarpaulins, mattresses, blankets, and other essential shelter materials, increasing the vulnerability of children, women, and elderly people. 2. Food Security The camp is experiencing a serious food security gap due to the reduction or interruption of humanitarian food assistance. Many families are surviving on only one insufficient meal per day, exposing them to increased risks of hunger and malnutrition. 3. Health and Medical Services The health sector is in a critical state, as the camp’s health center has remained non-operational since the outbreak of the war in 2023. As a result, refugees and local residents depend on the town hospital, which also suffers from a severe shortage of emergency medicines and essential medical supplies. Urgent Appeal and Recommendations Based on the findings of the field assessment, the Al Radom Locality Emergency Room issues an urgent appeal to international, regional, and national humanitarian organizations, as well as United Nations agencies, to take immediate action by: Providing urgent humanitarian assistance, including food, medicines, and shelter materials, to save lives and prevent further deterioration of the situation, especially during the rainy season. Deploying emergency medical missions and mobile clinics to provide essential medicines, medical supplies, and supporting healthcare personnel. Coordinating with United Nations agencies, particularly the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the World Food Programme (WFP), to conduct field visits and deliver direct humanitarian assistance to Al Radom Refugee Camp. Humanitarian Message The humanitarian situation in Al Radom Refugee Camp can no longer tolerate delays. Every day without urgent intervention means greater suffering for innocent civilians, especially women, children, and older persons. Saving the refugees of Al Radom is a shared humanitarian and moral responsibility that requires immediate and coordinated action from all humanitarian actors.
