The South Darfur Grassroots Action Coordination Council, in partnership with the Geraida Locality Emergency Rooms, launched an emergency humanitarian convoy to Ambaloula IDP Camp in Geraida Locality in response to the devastating fire that destroyed more than 900 shelters, leaving hundreds of displaced families in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. The convoy includes essential shelter support materials, such as tarpaulins, local construction materials (grass and firewood), women’s clothing, and children’s clothing, to help affected families rebuild temporary shelters and restore basic living conditions. It also carries food supplies to support the operation of community kitchens across different camps, ensuring continued meal provision for affected households. In addition, the response includes awareness and educational sessions aimed at promoting community knowledge on health, safety, and prevention measures. This humanitarian convoy reflects the commitment of the South Darfur Grassroots Action Coordination Council and its partners to provide rapid emergency response, support displaced communities, and strengthen the resilience of IDPs facing ongoing humanitarian challenges.
